PALS

Patient Advice and Liaison Services are a measure being introduced by the Government as part of the NHS Plan to improve the experience of patients and their carers. Their functions are:

to provide a source of information about NHS services

to address patients’ and their families’ concerns

to resolve day-to-day issues on the spot

PALS workers in GP practices will be managing patient queries or dissatisfactions with services in a more organised way, and will have access to a PALS network for information and support
